Z—Zenith

As I considered a Z-word to end this challenge, only one popped into my mind.

zenith* (noun) ze·nith ˈzē-nəth

1 : the point of the celestial sphere that is directly opposite the nadir and vertically above the observer

2 : the highest point reached in the heavens by a celestial body

3 : culminating point : acme

When you reach the zenith, you're at the top, the pinnacle, the summit, the peak. Zenith developed from an Arabic phrase meaning "the way over one's head" ....

There was a point when peak and apex were key words for me. They are both listed as synonyms. And with those, paramount (with a visual of a peak like the movie company).

Those words take me back decades to the 90s after G and I moved from Ohio to Kansas and began to travel in ministry. I'm so thankful to my mom for her allowing us to live with her in the middle of the country. Home base. Basically a day or two to drive anywhere in the country. I wonder if I've learned anything since then! (I am feeling a bit clueless, new beginnings and all, feeling like I am still drifting after all these years.)

When we came back to Ohio to visit, there were a few times we gathered with some former church friends and shared adventures. Paramount came one night. Kathy R. saw it I believe while we prayed. I wish I had been writing the adventures then (at least more). Maybe I can find details in my journals. But it was significant enough to impact my heart then and remain there to this day.

I was on the lookout for that apex! I guess I still am. Funny how a Z can also be an A. Full circle, I guess.

My final reflection isn't a stunning revelation. I didn't complete the writing every day and still have beginnings of words that didn't get posted. I thought maybe I'd dive deep and come up with treasure. Instead it's a blur and yet another month has zoomed by without conquest. Maybe it's so gradual I don't realize I'm chipping away at a limiting shell.
